Patrick Vieira leaves Arsenal

I'm still in a slight state of shock. I mean, if he was going to leave at any time, I would have banked on it being last summer, when Madrid came calling. I never expected him to decide to go back to Serie A, where he was a failure with AC Milan and taunted with racist comments when playing against Lazio.

Still, what is done is done - and I have to say I hope Arsene knows what he is doing this time. Certainly previous transfers out of the club have been beneficial for the team and I really hope its the case again this time.

Now we need to find a replacement and the latest reports are that we are lining up Newcastle's Jermaine Jenas.

London Bombings

...

Today on my way back from uni I heard about the four bombs that went off in London, killing at least 33 people (at present).

These kinds of attacks make me feel sick and question the validity of humanity's existence - and whether we are actually worth anything as a worldwide society. That people can do these kinds of things to each other in what is essentially a search for meaning in death (ie religion) is beyond me.

I only wish I could go and do something tangible about it. It's helping people in these types of situation that actually made me want to become a doctor in the first place.
